HPMA is looking to see how much interest exists for a marksmanship summer camp in Clovis, NM or in Lubbock, TX for juniors who are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The parent and the youth will attend and participate in all the events. Adults can attend this summer camp without an accompanying junior. All juniors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Make no mistake, this camp would be expensive to attend. Let us explain why.
Our weeks start on Monday and go through Saturday. Sunday will be a free day.
Our plan looks something like this.
When we reference live fire, typically 1/2 of the group will be firing while the other 1/2 of the group observes, then we switch.
We will expect each adult to make transportation and lodging arrangements to, from and at our location. We expect each adult to make transportation arrangements for the time spent with us. Attendees will have 90 minutes for lunch each day.
Week 1 will be dedicated to small bore (.22 caliber) rifle. We will provide the rifles, ammunition, targets, shooting equipment, range time, expert instruction and expert coaching. Each attendee will attend the NRA Basic Rifle course. This class usually takes about a day and a half to get everyone through. Those who successfully complete the course including but not limited to the written evaluation and the live fire evaluation will be awarded the NRA Certificate of Completion.
The rest of that week will be live fire in all four competitive unsupported positions. We will provide the rifles, ammunition, targets, shooting equipment, range time, expert instruction and expert coaching. We will start with prone, then sitting, then kneeling and finally the standing position. At the end of this week, each attendee will be awarded the shooting jacket, the sling, the glove, the kneeling roll, the shooting mat and the range gear bag they had been using that week. We hope to be able to build this program in such a way that we can also award each attendee the rifle they spent the week shooting. The rifle would probably have to be shipped by us to a FFL holder of your choice near your home for the adult to complete the required paperwork to take possession of the rifle.

The pistol would probably have to be shipped by us to a FFL holder of your choice near your home for the adult to complete the required paperwork to take possession of the pistol.

We will provide the shotguns, ammunition, clay targets, range time, expert instruction and expert coaching. Each attendee will attend the NRA Basic Shotgun course. This class usually takes about a day and a half to get everyone through. Those who successfully complete the course including but not limited to the written evaluation and the live fire evaluation will be awarded the NRA Certificate of Completion.
